How we get our Pine Nuts ! The Process we take to provide you with the Best!!

The Harvesting

INTRODUCTION:

Alright, so you want to have an ida of how the process of harvesting our pine nuts works! Right! Right. Well lets us tell you it simplest and to the point; its NOT as Easy For US as you THINK! Below we will list the steps we take, than next to each step we will describe a litttle of how its done and put into action.

OUR A-B-C's and 1,2,3's to getting the Nevada Soft Shell Pine Nuts you love:

FIRST - Scouting

To begin we first need to see and know if pine nuts are available to us to even begin (start) the harvest process. As you would imagine we almost always start our scouting in our favorite spots we know there to be or have produced good and plentiful amounts of pine nuts in recent years. We won't go into much details hear and give away or trade secrets, however we feel to mention that scouting took about 2 weeks total for us this year before we found a place convenient enough to harvest.

SECOND - Getting Permission & Gathering Fees

Ok, now many consumers and customers of ours think that just because the public forest are PUBLIC, they imagine that the forest are open to anyone to reap the benifits at no upfront financial costs. However harvesting pine nuts in a public forest requires permits as well. In some locations the permits are free as long as the individual or individuals pick no more than a certain amount (for example no more than 50 pounds), this limit is set for per person or individual pickers. Each individual interested is privaledged and entitled to gather for free until they reach this limit, and afterwards one must get another permit or harvesting license (different name is used professionally) and fallow other steps to gather more pine nuts in order to be in accordance to BLM regulations. The fee rate may vary depending on how many pinenuts are known to be available and or differenciate at auctions. If the BLM recieves permission from Native Indian Reservations, which land, at their discression, may be available to harvest on, the BLM may auctions off rights to harvest, which vary depending on what price the reservation(s) wish to charge.

MORE IS SOON TO BE ADDED! (This section is not yet complete.)
